WheelWOD programming is ALL inclusive, no matter if you are an adaptive athlete, an athlete with a temporary impairment or able-bodied athlete, we have a fitness solution for your needs.

WheelWOD Programming & Coaching

is specialized for athletes with permanent and temporary impairments. We offer fitness programming for everyone no matter skill or fitness levels. Our coaching staff is highly certified and experienced in dealing with athletes with impairments, competitive athletes and athletes just starting out.  

Our Staff is also the same staff of the Adaptive Training Academy (ATA) including:

Programs Offered:

Upper Program:

The WheelWOD Upper impairment program is specific fitness  programming for athletes with an impairment to the body above the waist. We provide a scaled and prescribed (Rx) program. This will focus on 5 working days and 1 active rest day and 1 full rest day. athletes will be able to choose from the base programming and optional competitive programming.

Examples of these athletes will be arm, hand, finger amputees, athletes that have erbs arms or BPI injuries causing semi or full paralysis in an upper limb or under developed muscles in chest and upper limbs ect. Usually athletes needing this programming are affected in the upper limbs with a temporary or permanent injury. 

The Upper program will provide adaptations to the athletes fitness workouts to focus on not overloading the sound limb and still achieve their fitness goals. We focus on developing technique in weight lifting, gymnastics and strongman with skill work combined with metcons, endurance and strength programming.

Lower Program:

The WheelWOD lower impairment program is specific fitness  programming for athletes with an impairment to the body below the waist. We provide a scaled and prescribed (Rx) program. This will focus on 5 working days and 1 active rest day and 1 full rest day. athletes will be able to choose from the base programming and optional competitive programming.

Examples of these athletes will be leg amputees, athletes that use Foot, knee or a combination of orthotics, club foot, knee impairments ect. Usually athletes needing this programming are affected in the lower limbs with a temporary or permanent injury. 

The lower program will provide adaptations to the athletes fitness workouts to focus on not overloading the sound limb and still achieve their fitness goals. We focus on developing technique in weight lifting, gymnastics and strongman with skill work combined with metcons, endurance and strength programming.

Seated Program:

The WheelWOD seated  program is specific fitness  programming for seated athletes with Spinal-cord, amputation or neurological impairment to the body. We provide a scaled and prescribed (Rx) program. This will focus on 5 working days and 1 active rest day and 1 full rest day. Athletes will be able to choose from the base programming and optional competitive programming.

Examples of these athletes will be athletes that perform their workouts in a seated position. Examples of the impairments in seated workouts would be athletes with Spinal cord injuries, Paraplegic, Quadriplegic, lower limb amputations, neurological impairments like Cerebral Palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida ect. Usually athletes needing this programming are affected in the lower limbs with paralysis that causes strength, coordination issues and can deal with spastic limbs . 

The Seated program will provide adaptations to the athletes fitness workouts to focus on not overloading the muscular & neurological system still achieve their fitness goals. We focus on developing technique in weight lifting, gymnastics and strongman with skill work combined with metcons, endurance and strength programming.

Neurological Program:

The WheelWOD Neuro impairment program is specific fitness  programming for standing athletes with an neurological impairment to the body. We provide a scaled and prescribed (Rx) program. This will focus on 5 working days and 1 active rest day and 1 full rest day. athletes will be able to choose from the base programming and optional competitive programming.

Examples of these athletes will be athletes with neurological impairments like Cerebral Palsy, athletes that use Foot, knee or a combination of orthotics, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Brain injuries ect. Usually athletes needing this programming are affected in the lower and upper limbs with  strength, coordination issues and can deal with spastic limbs . 

The Neurological program will provide adaptations to the athletes fitness workouts to focus on not overloading the neurological system still achieve their fitness goals. We focus on developing technique in weight lifting, gymnastics and strongman with skill work combined with metcons, endurance and strength programming.

Able-body Program:

The WheelWOD competitive program is specific fitness  programming for athletes looking to build a sound and strong body to allow them to compete at a high level. We provide a prescribed (Rx) program that has led to taking athletes to the CrossFit games in the individual mens field and masters division. This will focus on 5 working days and 1 active rest day and 1 full rest day. Athletes will be able to choose from the base programming and optional additional competitive programming.

The program will provide the athletes functional fitness workouts to focus on not overloading, but building a balanced system with strong movement and still achieve their fitness goals. We focus on developing technique in weight lifting, gymnastics and strongman with skill work combined with metcons, endurance and strength programming.

Affiliate Program:

The WheelWOD affiliate program follows the baseline set by CrossFit Indestri program of 60 minute classes developed by owner and coach Chris Stoutenburg. Stoutenburg is a former Paralympic gold medalist, NCAA athlete and national all-star. He programs for many affiliates throughout North America and has coached athletes in the CrossFit games, Wodapaooza and many other competitions. This program is in its 10th year and has been tested and tried with huge success. It uses a level system method to give elite to beginner athletes a chance to workout together by providing a sound warm up getting athletes moving through patterns that will be focussing in the days workout. Then usually followed by a focus piece that could be skill, strength, endurance or mobility oriented. The next part will provide 3 levels to give guid lines to athletes that is included in the metcon varied in length and a “cash out” that could be skill, accessory, cool down or a little extra work to finish the day. Paragraph

We also add skill, strength, gymnastic, endurance and strong man days to keep the athletes getting a full program and constantly varied. Specific days will also include partner workouts to bring community together and a strength and conditioning day on Sundays that is 60 minutes of strength and 30 minutes conditioning.
